Trauma Healing
Trauma can significantly affect your sense of well-being by continuing to impact you long after the painful experience has occurred. Trauma can occur as a one-time event, or it can be cumulative–the result of repetitive developmental trauma happening in childhood or at other times in your life–that you have carried for years. Whether we’ve experienced minor setbacks or major traumas, we are all affected by our memories and by experiences we may not fully understand.
If you experienced trauma you might have symptoms such as:
- Anxiety- “fight or flight” feelings that won’t go away
- Poor sleep or nightmares
- Depression
- Memory problems
- Pervasive feelings of “not good enough”
- Relationship problems
You might be ready to work with a therapist and release the pain to gain a sense of peace and wholeness. Your therapist can help you recognize your feelings, integrate your experiences and empower you to take charge of your life.
